Our History
Our Story Begins in 1939
We have manufactured corrugated packaging solutions since 1939. Beginning with the leadership of our founder, Ernest Wertheimer, our company philosophy has always focused on satisfying and exceeding your needs.

Our Story Continues: The Growth Years
(2004-2026)
Ernest’s son, Doug Wertheimer, grew up in the business. After graduating from college, he became a full-time employee here, and in 2004, he became president.
Doug took the company to the next level. Once a 70,000-square-foot operation in Chicago, our company more than quadrupled under Doug’s leadership.
The Next Chapter: Expanded Capabilities
(2026 and Beyond)
In 2026, Doug sought out a business relationship with SupplyOne, Inc. He knew that SupplyOne would enable Wertheimer Box to provide expanded service while maintaining the world-class customer care and excellent reputation the company had built during its first 87 years.

For example, during the 2008 economic downturn, our president made a commitment to our team. He encouraged us to work together as one family. He promised not to lay off a single person. Times were lean, we each reduced our hours. But we planned ahead. With our experienced team intact, we were poised to grow when the economy recovered.
